Chichester Town Library trustees reviewed and approved the April appropriated and non-appropriated financial reports at their May 13 meeting. Barbara Sweet moved to approve the appropriated report and Tom Downey seconded; the trustees then approved the non-appropriated report following the same procedure.
Trustees heard that April fundraising brought in $729.75 from used-book sales and $861 from plant sales, for a total of $1,590.75. Katie Ruoff reported that $6,000 of Block 5 funds allocated in 2025 but unused were returned to the Town. Caroline Pynes reported end-of-April balances of $52,688.49 in appropriated funds and $30,242.43 in non-appropriated funds.
Donations were also discussed: a $700 gift from Judy Clark leaves $265.02 remaining in that designation, and an anonymous donor contributed plants, DVDs, books and $250 toward summer reading prizes. Trustees noted these small fundraising and donation totals as helpful to programming and small purchases going into the summer season.
The trustees did not take additional budget action at the meeting beyond approving the reports; they asked staff to continue tracking revenues and to report back with any significant variances.
