Eatontown honors volunteer firefighter Mark Wilson for 50 years of service

At the start of the meeting on March 25 the council honored volunteer firefighter Mark Wilson with a proclamation recognizing 50 years of service to Eatontown and surrounding communities.
Council President Virginia East read the proclamation listing Wilson's tenure (volunteer since 1976) and roles within the department, noting he "has responded to thousands of calls" and has served as vice president, president, assistant chief engineer, chief engineer and trustee. Family members and department colleagues were invited to the front for photographs and to offer brief remarks.
Wilson spoke briefly about his long service and thanked his family and the department. Council members and residents offered congratulations and appreciation for his decades of volunteerism.
