Griffin described how community corrections connects people leaving jail to treatment, housing and employment, and warned that recent state requirements for recovery residences could reduce capacity, making community corrections more critical. "Community corrections gives people the opportunity to begin changing the direction of their lives while still being held accountable," she told the council. Council members asked the auditor to clarify year‑end projections and asked the director to identify ongoing savings and needs before any final appropriation.
