District discusses device plan, student behavioral-health supports, safety upgrades and athletic ticketing

Several operational items were presented to the board on Sept. 16. Tarkington High School Principal Sean McCabe described a Chromebook-based hybrid 1:1 device model to be implemented this school year for high school students. Chris Connor, Director of School and Student Services, briefed trustees on Tri-County Behavioral Health Care services in Cleveland the district can use to support students in crisis and listed upcoming safety trainings and assessments, including a Sept. 19 TISD SSSC meeting, Sept. 23 submission window for Basic EOP & Cybersecurity Annex, Oct. 4 onsite Raptor emergency management training and a Nov. 14 TEA District Vulnerability Assessment.
Athletic Director Toby Belt presented on implementing an online ticketing system for athletic events and discussed season-pass pricing; board members raised concerns about pricing and asked staff to research options and return at a future meeting. Dr. Davis also summarized information received from DeLa Express Pipeline and said the district distributed that information to parents for awareness.
