Tarkington ISD board approves vendor list, budget amendments and consent financial items

At its Sept. 16 meeting, the Tarkington ISD Board approved several finance-related items: the consent agenda (including the monthly financial report and minutes), a final set of budget amendments for fiscal year 2023–24, and the vendor list for the 2024–2025 fiscal year. The consent agenda approval was moved by Kevin Johnson and seconded by Lane Gulledge; the vendor list was approved on a motion by Paige Bostwick and seconded by Lane Gulledge. The final 2023–24 budget amendment motion was made by Susan Rollins and seconded by Kevin Johnson. All votes recorded six yeas and one absence.
CFO Thad Lasater explained that the 2023–24 amendments are intended to clean up journal entries ahead of the district’s annual audit. The vendor list presented reflects vendors previously used by the district; Lasater said that any new vendors going forward will be brought to the board for approval.
