Whitney ISD recognizes staff, students and athletes at May board meeting

At its May 4 meeting, the Whitney ISD Board recognized staff members of the month from across the district: Frank Morris (Elementary), Meghan Elder (Intermediate), Marilyn Ibarra (Middle), Linda Pack-Wilson (High School) and Jay Franklin (Transportation). The board also named Students of the Month and announced winners of a middle-school drinking-water art contest.
Athletic accomplishments were highlighted as well, with several high-school athletes placing at state powerlifting and tennis competitions and the 7th grade boys teams noted for district-level success. The recognitions were presented as part of routine agenda 'Presentations' and required no board action.
