The Rolling Meadows City Council on Feb. 24 held first reading of Ordinance No. 26-00, which would amend Section 6-37(a)(4) of the City Code to increase by one the maximum number of Class B1 liquor licenses issued by the city. The ordinance identifies the proposed license holder as 3600 Berdnick Inc., doing business as EZ Mart at 3600 Berdnick Street. Mayor Sanoica read the title into the record before Alderperson Boucher moved consideration for first reading and Alderperson McHale seconded. The roll-call vote was 5–0 and the ordinance moved forward to a second reading.
A first reading advances the ordinance to the next meeting for additional consideration and a possible vote. The meeting minutes do not record any debate or public comment on the proposed license during the Feb. 24 session.
