The Village Board on Dec. 4 passed an ordinance amending section 1-5-3 of chapter 5 of the village code. The measure was read and then approved by roll call with six recorded affirmative votes.
The chair earlier explained that, if voters decide to not retain the managerial form of government in the April 1, 2025 referendum, the village president’s salary would increase to $135,000 with medical and dental benefits. The chair emphasized the salary change would only take effect contingent on voter action.
Trustees voted on the ordinance immediately after the referendum resolution. The clerk recorded affirmative responses from Trustee Carmona, Trustee Franz, Trustee Frey, Trustee Lomax, Trustee Panafola, and Trustee Perez; the chair declared the ordinance passed.
