Library Director Heidi Kaiden reported that two new staff members began work the week of Feb. 26 and are completing onboarding before being assigned to projects. She also said staff member Heather returned from bereavement leave on Feb. 17.
Kaiden told trustees the state report for the library is due March 16. She said federal tax forms have been received at the library but the official instruction booklets had not arrived; the library will provide copies of tax forms to patrons and will photocopy needed instruction pages on request. Kaiden also announced a free Medicare program scheduled for April 16 consisting of a presentation followed by about 30 minutes of questions and answers. She noted the "Bring Your Own Book" club met for a second session with no attendees.
Kaiden did not provide dollar figures for staffing costs or estimated program attendance in the minutes. The board did not take action on staffing changes during the meeting.
