ARHPB votes at a glance: minutes approved; Parlor Doughnuts and two demolitions approved unanimously

At its Feb. 18 meeting the ARHPB unanimously approved the Sept. 17, 2024 minutes, renovations at 160 E Plant Street for Parlor Doughnuts, and the demolition of two duplexes at 107 and 121 S Highland Avenue; all votes were 5–0.
At the Feb. 18 meeting the Architectural Review and Historic Preservation Board took three formal actions: approving previous minutes and granting Certificates of Approval and demolition authorization for two city properties. Board Member Amanda Daluga moved to approve the Sept. 17, 2024 minutes; Board Member Austin Arthur seconded and the motion passed 5–0.
The board approved renovations for Parlor Doughnuts at 160 E Plant Street (2,511 +/- sq. ft.), with conditions for signage, chimney screening, landscaping and staff oversight of the historic district color palette. The board also approved demolition of vacant duplexes at 107 and 121 S Highland Avenue; city staff said both lots will be sodded and maintained and may be used for municipal purposes, including potential park expansion. There was no public comment on either substantive item. The meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
