West Oso ISD board reorganizes leadership, elects Velma Rodriguez president

At its Dec. 16 meeting the West Oso Independent School District board reorganized officers, electing Ms. Velma Rodriguez president and Mr. Oscar Arredondo vice president; Ms. Belinda Gonzalez was named secretary after a 5-1 vote on that position.
The West Oso Independent School District Board of Trustees voted Dec. 16 to reorganize its officers. Ms. Shirley Jordan nominated Ms. Velma Rodriguez for board president; Ms. Liz Gutierrez seconded the nomination and the motion carried unanimously as recorded (6-0-0).
The board also elected Mr. Oscar Arredondo as vice president on a 6-0-0 vote. For the board secretary position, Ms. Jordan nominated Ms. Belinda Gonzalez; Ms. Priscilla Vela seconded. That motion carried 5-1-0, with Ms. Liz Gutierrez recorded as voting Nay. The reorganization followed routine board procedure and will guide leadership for upcoming board business and community outreach.
