Board approves five administrator contract extensions; JH/HS principal extension passes 5–2
Summary
Trustees approved contract extensions for five administrators. The extension for JH/HS Principal Kittie Gibson passed 5–2 (Trustees Raymond Dodd and Jerome Dewberry opposed); the other four extensions passed, most unanimously.
The Wink-Loving ISD Board voted March 3 to extend contracts for five district administrators. Trustee Melissa Halterman moved to approve the contract extensions; motions were seconded and recorded for each administrator. The extension for Junior High/High School Principal Kittie Gibson passed 5–2, with Trustees Raymond Dodd and Jerome Dewberry voting against the motion. The board approved contract extensions for Elementary Principal Candice Voyles, Athletic Director/Assistant Principal Brian Gibson, Special Education Director Mrs. Michelle Frerich, and Band Director Mr. David Speer as presented, with the latter four motions carried by unanimous or recorded unanimous votes.
The meeting included an executive session under Texas Government Code Section 551.074 for personnel matters; the board entered closed session at 7:30 p.m. and reconvened at 8:51 p.m., with minutes noting no final action was taken while in closed session. After reconvening, Trustee Halterman moved, “I move that the Board Approve Contract Extensions for: Mrs. Kittie Gibson as presented.” Trustee Evans seconded; the motion passed 5–2. Motions to approve the other administrators’ contracts were recorded as passed afterward.
