Wink-Loving ISD board accepts guaranteed maximum price for district golf facility

The Wink-Loving Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Feb. 6 to accept a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the district golf facility after staff and advisors reviewed subcontract bids and the project scope. Trustee Melissa Halterman moved the acceptance and the motion passed 6–0.
Administration materials say Tienert Construction Corporation, the construction manager-at-risk selected in June 2023, submitted the GMP after subcontract bids were received Jan. 31, 2025 and reviewed by WRA and Gallagher. The board was told the construction budget will be funded from dedicated 2023 bond funds and that the preconstruction fee is not included in the GMP. "I move that the Board Accept the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the WLISD Golf Facility as presented," Trustee Melissa Halterman said when making the motion.
The minutes record no dollar figure for the GMP in the public minutes. The motion carried with six trustees voting in favor and one trustee absent.
