The Commission highlighted the students’ academic plans: Anshul Kapur (Seminole High School) will study neuroscience at Florida State University; Carlyssa Gantt (Lake Brantley High School) will attend Bethune‑Cookman University focusing on instructional design and data storytelling; Mia Juster (Lake Brantley High School) is pursuing civil engineering at the University of Florida; and Samantha Proulx (Lyman High School) plans to study electrical engineering at the University of Central Florida with an interest in wave energy. Mayor Bates and commissioners praised the recipients and the community partners who supported the awards.
