The Chair told the committee that "BAS published new reimbursement rates for various towns, including ours," and that Willington’s base reimbursement rate increased by 1.25 percentage points. Committee members and the owner’s project manager said they are working to calculate what the change means for the town share under each consolidated-school option and will present updated financing details before the referendum.
Members noted that the current financial comparisons are based on a specific assumed reimbursement rate (discussed as 93% for new-construction options and a 95% cap for renovation) and that staff would incorporate the updated rate into revised cash-flow and debt-service calculations. The committee agreed that those updated figures should be available for the selected option prior to the referendum.
