The Winona Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Jan. 23 to approve the hiring of Randal Scoggins and to accept the resignation of Micah Harrison. Aaron Wilson moved the motion to approve the personnel actions and Mark Wintters seconded; the board carried the motion unanimously.
Following a closed executive session, the board also approved a superintendent evaluation rating of 4 out of 5 for Superintendent Damenion Miller, a rating characterized in the record as "Exceeding Expectations." Aaron Wilson moved and William Allen seconded the evaluation motion; the vote was unanimous. The actions were announced after the board reconvened to open session at 7:40 p.m.
