"This was the 1 that we really keyed in on last year, that school is a safe place for students," a presenter said when introducing the slide on safety perceptions. Staff described a new CT 'Zen Den' (a wellness space for short resets) and other mental‑health interventions aimed at reducing school avoidance and improving attendance, and they credited broad outreach and follow‑up for notable declines in chronic absenteeism.
Administrators reported chronic‑absence rates improved in 2023–24, citing figures of about 6% for Loma and about 12% for CT; staff attributed improvements to active outreach, family contact and in‑school supports and said they will continue targeted interventions where rates remain high.
