District presents tentative budget that includes proposed 11.2% property tax increase

Todd Hauber, Business Administrator, told the Board: "The tentative budget that we are presenting to you today includes a proposed tax increase that exceeds the certified tax rate." Board materials and the presentation identified an approximate dollar increase of $21,688,055 and an approximate percentage increase of 11.2% above the certified tax rate.
Brian Ipson reviewed budget priorities, revenue estimates and one-time funding proposals; staff said the figures presented are estimates and that final numbers are expected in mid-June. A Truth in Taxation hearing on the proposed increase was set for Aug. 18, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., at which members of the public will have an opportunity to comment before final action.
