President Randy Harp delivered the Board's informational report on June 11, reporting a 6.36 percent increase in summer headcount over the previous year and notable growth in part-time enrollment. He said fall enrollment projections were trending positively, with preliminary reports indicating increases exceeding 12 percent in some categories.
Harp described recruitment initiatives, including outreach at the Idabel campus and visits to every school in McCurtain County; he also reported meeting with Choctaw Nation Tribal Council members to discuss workforce needs and potential program delivery. Harp said the college is preparing for a Higher Learning Commission review and provided institutional staffing context: 29 full-time faculty, 31 adjunct faculty, a student-to-faculty ratio around 22:1, and approximately 90% of faculty holding master's degrees or higher.
Chair Jeffrey and the Regents commended recruitment progress; President Harp encouraged continued focus on enrollment as central to fiscal stability under the new state funding methodology.
