"What we were able to get was $294,000, and it's gonna take 8 months to a year at best to get it done," he told the board.
Department members inspected possible used replacements and recommended a 2009 Carson Spartan rescue apparatus offered in the Midwest. The proposed purchase price is $175,000 plus transport and estimated upfits (lettering, radio work, lighting changes to meet Connecticut standards). Chief Moore emphasized the replacement would increase pumping capacity and seating and reduce the long downtime a full refurb would require. The board added the proposed funding reallocation to the Aug. 12 town‑meeting warning for voter consideration.
