Resident bitten by dog at Eden town beach; board vows to identify owners and bar dogs

A town resident reported that a dog jumped at and bit his son, Cody Nolan, twice while the child rode a bike near parked cars at the Eden town beach on the weekend before the Selectboard's July 28 meeting. "Cody is bruised but overall okay," the minutes state. The dog owners left the scene before being identified; Johnna Uhlendorff told the board she recognized the vehicle and that the people use a resident pass almost every weekend.
The Selectboard instructed staff to try to identify the owners and obtain rabies‑vaccination documentation, and to inform the owners that dogs are no longer welcome at the beach. Animal Control Officer Faye Cochran has been notified and is working to determine ownership. The board also confirmed staff take daily head counts at the beach to support future decisions about operations or leasing.
