Resident presses Selectboard on North Road paving limits and requests flashing speed sign

Dennis Landry attended the Selectboard meeting to discuss the planned paving on North Road and a cut-through on his property. Landry said he was concerned about how far the pavement would extend and asked for assurance it would not go beyond prior pavement limits. Chair Ricky Morin told him he would coordinate with the contractor (Pike) and that the pavement would not extend past prior limits; Morin also said he would address topsoil and reseeding of Landry’s property.
Landry asked whether the Selectboard had influence with the Vermont Agency of Transportation to request a flashing speed sign along RTE 100; he expressed a preference for education rather than enforcement. Molly Morin provided a phone number for the district AOT garage to pursue the sign and Landry also requested additional intersection signage (STOP/YIELD). The board heard a few complaints about notification timing for the road work but noted road maintenance is frequent and that the state and town do not typically notify residents for routine road tasks when the road remains open with flaggers on site.
