Board accepts multiple donations to support clubs, classes and student activities
Summary
The board accepted a range of donations Sept. 11, including cash gifts for DEMS service-learning and DHS cheer, medical supplies for the DHS science department, sewing machines for art departments, and $1,000 from Gale Force Education for KidWind expenses.
On motions by board member Winslow, seconded by Riechers, the board accepted numerous donations to support student programs. Donations recorded in the minutes include $300 from F & K Tire Service & Repair to the DHS Cheerleading account; $100 from Darlington United Methodist Church Women and several other $100 and smaller gifts to support DEMS "Rosie Bags"; $500 from the Sieg Foundation; medical supplies and equipment from Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County for the DHS Science Department; six sewing machines from Cheryl Wagner for DEMS and DHS art; $1,000 from Gale Force Education to cover KidWind National Convention expenses; and donations of pumpkins from Wild Horses Forest School and Jason Schuetz for the DEMS Art Department.
All of the listed donations were accepted by motion and are recorded as "Motion carried." The minutes do not attach restrictions or conditions to the gifts; the record thanks each donor by name or organization where shown.
