Vice President Katie Felch called the D C Everest Area School District board to order Aug. 21 and the board approved the Weston Safe Routes to Schools Plan during new business. Board member Joshua Dickerson moved to adopt the plan and Larry Schaefer seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
The plan was offered to the board as part of the meeting background materials. Board members did not record a roll-call on the motion (voice vote). The superintendent's routine report earlier in the meeting included district logistics and events but did not supply additional text of the Safe Routes plan in the minutes. The board did not attach conditions to the approval when recorded in the minutes.
The board moved on to other capital and policy matters after approving the Safe Routes plan. The plan and the board's motion are recorded in the meeting minutes and will be part of the district’s public records for the 2024–25 school year.
