WLISD meeting: enrollment numbers, testing, maintenance and staff transition highlighted

District administrators provided a series of routine reports at the Dec. 10 meeting covering enrollment figures, upcoming testing and events, facilities work, technology upgrades and a planned leadership transition in special education.

Elementary Principal Candice Voyles reported total elementary enrollment of 229 for 2024–25 with class-level counts provided; JH/HS Principal Kittie Gibson reported a combined JH/HS enrollment of 210 (HS 146, JH 64). Administrators noted MOY i-Ready testing Dec. 16–19, semester exams Dec. 18–19, Academic UIL events, and student participation in state FFA and Congress activities. The maintenance report listed repairs and routine upkeep across campuses, and Technology Director Mike Dawkins described network switch upgrades, camera storage server configuration, and library screen/sound installations. The Special Education director announced plans to retire at the end of the school year and that Michelle Frerich is being prepared to succeed them; the director summarized the work as "Teamwork."

These reports were informational; no board action was required on the items presented. The minutes include detailed item lists (repairs, event dates, testing windows, and cafeteria average daily participation figures) but do not include separate board directives or policy changes tied to these reports.
