Wink-Loving ISD approves $1,500 appreciation payments to local police chiefs

The Wink-Loving ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously Nov. 11 to approve appreciation letters and a $1,500 payment bonus each to Chief Soltero and Chief Sanford for their work at home and away football games and for monitoring school zones.
In administrative consideration, the district noted both chiefs attend in-district functions and have been willing to help the district; the board moved and approved the payment during action item 8B. Trustee Jerome Dewberry made the motion to approve the appreciation letters and payment, Trustee Carrie Purcell seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
Board minutes record that funds for the payments are available in the district budget; no additional conditions or follow-up reporting requirements were recorded at the time of approval.
