The Marquette County Board of Commissioners approved a request for the fourth USDA drawdown payment for the KI SOAR water-improvement project during the Feb. 17 meeting. Dwayne (project representative) said the pay request covers Smith Construction pay application #11 for $103,167.52 and two GEI consultant invoices totaling $30,303.66, for a combined drawdown of $133,471.18.
Dwayne told the board construction administration and design work is being handled by GEI and the overall project remains on track for completion by September 2026; staff estimated the project may finish under budget by roughly $500,000. Commissioner Malone asked whether the expenditures were within the initially approved budget; Dwayne and staff confirmed the payments are within scope and expected to remain within budget. The board approved the payment in a roll-call vote; recorded affirmatives included Commissioner Apple, Commissioner Newman, Commissioner Malone and Chairperson DiRosa (as read aloud during the roll call).
