Board approves Marquette County Health Department 2026 organizational plan; director praised on retirement

Commissioner Lumenin moved to accept the plan and the motion passed by voice vote. Commissioners praised Messina’s leadership during COVID and thanked him for his service ahead of his retirement. Messina said the current plan is less burdensome than the prior version: some policies were removed and the department's compliance scope has been streamlined.
The board approved the plan and instructed staff to include the signed letter for the state accreditation packet. No additional funding action was recorded at the meeting.
