The village’s public affairs committee briefed trustees on July 4 plans for Perthes Park: festivities are to run from about 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the parade gathering at 10–10:30 and starting at noon. A vendor presence, band, bingo (run by a DJ) and a kids’ area (including a bounce house sponsored by a local church) were described in planning notes.
Committee members said the fireworks display uses roughly $15,000 worth of fireworks and organizers are requesting a $10-per-car donation at park entry to offset costs. The committee discussed safety and coordination with the fire department and sheriff’s office and confirmed notifications to authorities and local radio for promotion. Trustees encouraged continued coordination and volunteered to assist with event operations if available.
The committee asked trustees to publicize event details in the village newsletter and to help staff with post-event cleanup and volunteer coordination. Organizers noted boat viewing on the lake is popular but cautioned drivers and boaters to avoid blocking crowd sightlines and to dim navigation lights during the fireworks.
