At its Aug. 4 meeting the Lompoc Unified board approved a slate of routine and action items — Microsoft licensing piggyback, consolidated application/LCAP addendum, PE exemptions for older students, provisional internship permits, amendment to the superintendent’s appointment, and the local assignment option — all by 3-0 votes.
Trustees approved a set of action items by roll call vote, each carrying 3-0. The board adopted a resolution to utilize a piggyback contract (Kings County Office of Education contract #2024-04) to renew Microsoft licensing from Softchoice Corporation for 2026–27. The consolidated application and LCAP federal addendum for categorical funding was approved as a routine funding item.
The board also approved physical education exemptions for students 16 years of age or older, provisional internship permit submissions and an amendment to the superintendent's appointment agreement, each by unanimous vote. Members described several of these items as routine or previously seen by the board and did not request extended debate.
