District staff presented three notices of completion for bond-funded public works projects and reminded the board that formal closeout is required to release contractor retention (5% of contract price). The network cabling project at Cabrillo High (FL Music Building/Theater) was completed by AMS in July at a cost of $104,000 funded through the E‑Rate program.
Staff also reported completion of an asbestos flooring tile encapsulation across four secondary sites. The board previously approved the project at $2.5 million; a change order of about $135,000 increased the total to $2,600,000 and the work finished in July. A smaller flooring replacement at El Camino Ed Center and its career center was completed at the end of June for $151,000; the board approved notices of completion for all three projects.
