The sponsor offered an amendment to require that beneficiaries be "honorably discharged" and to change the bill's effective date to July 1, 2026.
The committee adopted the amendment by voice vote and then voted to advance the bill as amended. The clerk recorded "9 ayes and 0 nays." Leader Camper thanked members for a favorable vote, and the chair announced the bill will move to the full commerce committee.
