Board approves service contracts, cooperative purchasing membership, auditor and budget amendments on consent agenda

On April 28 the board approved a multi‑item consent agenda that included procurement and fiscal housekeeping measures.
CFO Lorrie Remick said the district received few bidders for several service contracts and recommended awarding the plumbing contract to Merritt and Mission Mechanical (RFP #25‑01), the electrical contract to CRI (RFP #25‑02), and the concrete contract to Albright (RFP #25‑03). She explained the low bidder interest likely reflected the absence of guaranteed work in the contracts. The board also approved membership in the State of Texas cooperative purchasing program with a $100 renewal fee, Budget Amendment No. 2 and necessary operating transfers for FY 2025, and the continued use of Armstrong & Bond as district auditor for the June 30, 2025 fiscal year end.
Trustees approved the entire consent agenda by a 3–0 vote after no items were pulled for separate discussion.
