District interventionists told the board that LIFT grant supports have produced substantial reading gains at both elementary and secondary levels.
Dr. Mark Malone introduced the interventionists. Elementary interventionists (minutes list Ms. Ashley/Amber Barnhart and Autumn Heyman) presented data the board summarized as 100% student "approvement" through intervention and reported that 99% of first graders are reading at or above grade level. Secondary interventionists Teresa Nieto and Carrie Thompson presented similar improvement data and described multiple instructional tasks and supports used to return students to grade level.
The report was informational; trustees did not take formal action. The data will inform continued intervention planning and use of LIFT grant resources.
