The Dunsmuir City Council on Jan. 15 voted to create an Economic Development ad hoc committee to oversee continued work on downtown revitalization and marketing stemming from the Cosmonaut report. Staff described the proposed membership as "2 members of council, Kate Clother as the executive director of the Chamber of Commerce and Quentin Gaddy as the executive director of the Small Business Center," and Council Member Brian moved to adopt Resolution 2026-01; the motion was seconded and the clerk announced "Motion carries."
Council then voted to appoint Mayor Lucchese and Council Member Bridal to the committee; council members and local business owners who spoke during public comment urged the committee to set benchmarks and engage merchants quickly so seasonal planning can proceed. White Bailey also asked that committee members be asked to file Form 700 disclosures if appropriate.
