Residents urge Marquette County to limit cooperation with federal immigration agents

Anna Ellis argued the board could follow Washtenaw County’s example and stressed the constitutional basis for the request: "Any resident of Marquette County should be able to freely access any county service regardless of their immigration status." Commissioners discussed asking staff and county counsel to bring suggested policy language and limits on cooperation to a future agenda item for formal consideration.
