Council honors Firewise volunteers; Steven Decatur presented with plaque

Later in the meeting, Kristen Norman of the Fire Safe Council presented a plaque to Steven Decatur and praised his leadership: "You just will leave a lasting mark on Siskiyou County." Several public commenters and council members thanked Decatur for his work and noted he is leaving for a post in Berkeley.
The recognition was ceremonial; no formal council action was taken in this agenda item. Speakers encouraged continuing Firewise and emergency-preparedness efforts in the community.
