Trustee Evan Bryant moved the measure and Trustee Jeromy Johnson seconded; according to the minutes the motion carried with all in favor. The action followed discussion of an article in the Township Perspective and review of the Illinois Township Code phrase that “The township clerk, when authorized by the township board, may appoint one deputy clerk.” Clerk Norton provided copies of the code to trustees for reference. No further conditions or names for a deputy were specified in the minutes.
