The board approved an agreement to acquire access to an AI-driven instructional and discussion platform for high‑school instruction through a contract with Pacback Incorporated.
Trustee Padilla thanked district staff and leadership for bringing the item forward and said the move helps the district stay current with rapidly evolving instructional technologies. "I just wanna commend the district for trying to stay on top of, you know, artificial intelligence and discussion platforms," Padilla said, noting he had reviewed the superintendent's conference report on AI and professional learning.
The item was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote 4–0 with Trustee Guzman absent. Trustees emphasized the need for appropriate safeguards and teacher professional development as AI tools are introduced into classrooms; staff said the contract accompanies professional learning plans and will be monitored by district leaders.
