Board approves consent agenda and signs off on FY 2023–24 audit

The Los Olivos Community Services District approved its consent agenda and the fiscal year 2023–24 audit during the Feb. 12 meeting. Directors said they had individually reviewed invoices that could not be vetted last month because a finance subcommittee meeting lacked a quorum; after discussion one director moved to approve the consent agenda and another seconded it. The board voted by voice and the motion passed.
On the audit, staff reported the FY 2023–24 audit from MLH arrived late but appears clean with no substantial findings. A motion to approve the audit and to direct the president and general manager to sign and file the report with the appropriate state agency was made and seconded; the board approved the motion by voice vote.
The approvals allow the district to proceed with required filings and with planning work that relies on the audit’s completion, such as outreach on wastewater project financing and next steps in engineering. Board members also asked staff to resume outreach to identify a successor audit firm for next year because current firm MLH is no longer available under the same timeline.
