Three ASB leaders—Alina Ramirez, Tessa Segueta and Cindy Flores—presented a student-life report to the El Monte Union board on Jan. 21, highlighting school traditions, rallies, homecoming halftime performances and student recognition efforts.
The students described freshman orientation activities meant to welcome new students, spirit weeks and a quinceañera fashion show, and explained the process for student recognitions such as student of the month and attendance awards. The ASB also shared video clips and photos; Trustee Padilla complimented the use of video alongside still images as "one of the coolest presentations" he has seen and praised the emphasis on attendance and student engagement.
Trustees asked lighthearted questions (which class had the most spirit) and thanked the students for representing their peers. The board encouraged students to share ideas on ways trustees can support campus needs.
