Mayor Roger Agpawa and aldermen acknowledged the concern but emphasized equal application of the law across businesses. Ald. Joseph Bertrand Jr. said he supports Knotty Luxe in his ward and "understands there are some concerns in the community that need to be addressed," while Ald. Brenna Hampton‑Houser cautioned the council to weigh the broader community interest when setting policy. The council did not take immediate action during public comment; the liquor‑code amendment was otherwise considered later on the agenda.
