Edina PD to boost park patrols, activate reserves and restructure cadets after shooting

"Our cadets are instructed that on their free time, they're supposed to be doing directed patrols at all the parks," Keckert said, adding that officers will be present and encouraged to get out of cars and connect with people rather than simply drive through. Milburn said the city currently has one mobile camera trailer (it was down for maintenance) and can request additional equipment from neighboring jurisdictions in emergencies.
Officials said the enhanced presence is intended to act as both a deterrent and an early-warning capability: increased boots on the ground and intelligence-sharing with Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Hopkins and Saint Louis Park would allow a faster, pooled response when large unsanctioned gatherings form.
