Rockdale ISD earns "A (Superior)" rating in Texas financial accountability hearing

Chief Financial Officer Deidra Hall presented the district's public hearing on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) results, telling the board that Rockdale Independent School District received an "A" rating, categorized as "Superior," for rating year 2023-24. Hall said the rating used 2022-23 school-year data together with fiscal year 2023 financial information and relies on PEIMS enrollment and staff data, audit results and other information reported to the Texas Education Agency.
Hall described the FIRST process as a multi-year comparison that incorporates PEIMS and audit data to evaluate financial integrity and accountability. The hearing provided the statutorily required public presentation of the district's financial rating; no public comments were registered during the hearing. The board did not take further action at the hearing beyond the required presentation and the meeting adjourned later that evening.
