Rockwall ISD trustees elect officers after oath of office

The Rockwall Independent School District Board of Trustees administered the oath of office to Amy Hilton (Place 6) and Dr. Bart Miller (Place 7) during its May 18, 2026 regular meeting and then elected board officers for the coming year.
Trustee Amy Hilton nominated Dr. Sherry Packer for board president; the motion, seconded by Grant DuBois, passed 5-0 with trustees Frank Conselman and Dr. Steve Albers absent. Grant DuBois nominated Stan Britton for vice president (seconded by Dr. Bart Miller), and Stan Britton nominated Dr. Bart Miller for board secretary (seconded by Amy Hilton). Both motions passed 5-0. The board’s roll call at the start of the meeting listed Dr. Sherry Packer, Stan Britton, Amy Hilton, Grant DuBois and Dr. Bart Miller as present.
The officer votes were recorded in open session prior to a closed-session recess. No dissent or amendments to the officer nominations are recorded in the minutes.
