Rockdale ISD reports non-certified hires and a resignation after closed session

The Rockdale ISD Board entered closed session at 11:42 a.m. and returned to open session at 11:58 a.m. following a motion by Trustee Julia Cardona, seconded by Trustee Janice Keen; the motion to enter closed session carried 6-0.
In open session, Superintendent Dr. Denise Monzingo reported three non-certified personnel hires for the 2024–2025 school year: Ma G Moreno Rojas (Custodian), Gloria Nieto Zavaleta (High School ESL Paraprofessional), and Ke'Ira Moore (Tiger Learning Center Child Care Provider). Dr. Monzingo also reported the resignation of Jaycie Tannahill, Tiger Learning Center Child Care Provider, effective Nov. 18, 2024. The minutes record the reports but do not include separate public roll-call votes approving the hires.
Trustee Amy Casas subsequently moved, seconded by Trustee Karen Laughlin, to adjourn the meeting; the motion carried 6-0 and the meeting adjourned at 11:59 a.m.
