At the Dec. 16 Rockdale ISD Board meeting, Communications Specialist Kayleigh Whitsel presented the district's November R.O.A.R. (Rockdale Outstanding Actions Recognized) awards to two employees.
Whitsel said the district recognized Lisa Debault, Health Science teacher at Rockdale High School, "for her sincerity, her way of making students feel like they are important, and helping them work through life’s ups and downs." Whitsel described Debault as a trusted mentor and school nurse figure for many students. The second recipient, Jerry Tater of the maintenance team, was singled out for "going above and beyond to get things done" and for consistently seeking solutions to keep district facilities running smoothly.
The district framed the nominations as part of a larger program highlighting staff dedication across Rockdale ISD.
