Rockdale ISD honors student-athletes for Texas All-State academic recognition

At the Dec. 16 regular meeting of the Rockdale Independent School District Board of Trustees, Communications Specialist Kayleigh Whitsel recognized Rockdale High School student-athletes who earned academic honors from the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA).
Whitsel announced volleyball honorees Macy McDaniel (Elite Team Academic All-State), Molly Moody (2nd Team Academic All-State), and Kayla Ehler, Elizabeth Perry and Olivia Rubio (Honorable Mention Academic All-State). She also named football honorees Alvan Liu (Elite Team Academic All-State) and Klay Eschberger (2nd Team Academic All-State). The recognitions were presented as examples of students who "exemplify what it means to be a well-rounded individual, balancing rigorous coursework with competitive athletics." Whitsel noted the district's pride in the students' academic and athletic achievements.
The acknowledgments were presented near the start of the meeting; no formal board action was required. Board President Charles Miles and district administrators joined in congratulating the students.
