The board heard the district's "sunshine" disclosure of its initial bargaining proposal to the Eureka Teachers Association for 2026–27, and the ETA informed the board it will open one article in its initial proposal.
District staff said the current collective bargaining agreement runs July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027, and that the district proposes to open compensation and benefits plus Article 10 (evaluation procedures pilot), Article 23 (teacher hours), and two additional articles. “The district proposes to open article 10 evaluation procedures pilot and article 23, teacher hours… including but not limited to schedules, teaching periods as we continue to mutually design competency based learning systems,” staff said. The ETA representative said it will open Article 11 (extra duty compensation). The board opened the item for public comment and recorded the sunshine disclosures on the record.
