Orange Glen principal highlights higher attendance, graduation gains and math interventions

Principal Michael Santos presented Orange Glen High School’s recent data and interventions, noting rising attendance and improved achievement indicators.
"As of 12/05, 93.85%, which is the highest out of all 3 comp sites," Santos said, calling out steady increases in ADA and improvements in graduation rates (reported at 87.4%). He described growth in college-and-career readiness — a 57.7% level for the senior class by the district's measure — and rising AP participation and pass rates following district support for free AP testing.
Santos detailed Orange Glen’s math-improvement work: common pacing across math courses, a targeted Delta Math program to shore up foundational skills, a 0-period intervention and Saturday Scholars, and peer tutoring integrated into after-school supports. Trustees asked clarifying questions about how the college-and-career readiness percentage is calculated and when science testing is administered; staff said the senior cohort is measured and science assessments may be taken in 10th–12th grade depending on course sequencing.
Trustees complimented the presentation and encouraged continued focus on CTE, attendance strategies and communicating program success to families to support enrollment and retention.
